We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Calibration Engineer to join our embedded laboratory team at Siemens Energy in Lincoln.

What will I be responsible for?

You will be responsible for the calibration and repair of client electrical test equipment in line with client /local procedures. You will also lend support to the administrative functions of the Laboratory in order to meet delivery and workflow KPIs. As an Electrical Calibration Engineer you will:

  • Conduct calibration and repair, to component level, of client owned electrical test equipment used for DC/LF, temperature, pressure, vibration measurements and general purpose instruments.
  • Calibrate Test Beds, temperature instrumentation and weighing equipment.
  • Complete endothermic surveys of furnaces.
  • Produce calibration certificates for work performed.
  • Update client equipment management systems.
  • Write and review MET-CAL and ACAL automated calibration procedures.
  • Adhere to Safety, Quality and Regulatory frameworks.
  • Provide Technical Support and guidance to colleagues and clients on request.
  • Assist staff members in other areas when workload demands.
  • Other duties as required, commensurate with the role.

Essential Skills:

Our ideal Electrical Calibration Engineer

As our ideal Electrical Calibration Engineer, you will have previous experience in a Calibration role.  Whilst training will be given on company ERP systems and procedures, you will need the following skills and experience:

  • Formal qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or extensive demonstrable experience in and understanding of electrical calibration, both practical and theoretical.
  • Good coordination/dexterity in order to undertake manual adjustments on high accuracy instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of BS EN ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Computer literate and adaptable to new systems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to work in a small, closely knit team.
  • Team player who displays commitment and flexibility.
  • UK driver’s license.
  • This role undertakes client onsite calibration that often requires entry to difficult to access and restricted or confined spaces/areas.
