Job Description

We have a new opportunity for Technical Tester to join our team!

The successful candidate will build-out a world class automation suite to test our global technology platform in a high release cadence, agile environment. 

They will be required to work closely with the wider technology team and provide in-depth reports and analysis of our products, to ensure that they deliver high speed, quality results.  The role will also include system analysis, test plan generation and the recording of defects in the bug tracking system.

The role can be fully remote and based within the UK, there will be the occasional requirement to work from our Reading Office for collaboration days.

Day to day:

  • Develop a test harness using Protractor to test our new products and increase testing as new features are being built and developed
  • Enable frequent, high-quality releases by developing repeatable automated tests
  • Work as part of a flexible, committed and busy software delivery team to test high quality solutions to an international business
  • Work with the development team to ensure that the solutions meet the business requirements and target architecture and are delivered in a controlled fashion
  • Develop and maintain SpecFlow tests
  • Maintenance and ownership of the test environment
  • Manual testing of new functionality delivered in the sprints
  • Communicate your findings to the developers in a clear and understandable way

Essential Skills

  • Extensive experience in a test/development role
  • Experience creating test plans and automation from scratch
  • Experience of working automated test using C#        
  • Extensive experience of testing windows, web and cloud-based applications and web services
  • Experience of SQL to integrate and alter data for testing purposes
  • Proven ability to design test cases, both manual and automated
  • Experience of coordinating the execution of manual and automated regression testing
  • Experience of modern test methodologies
  • Degree in Computer Science, Technical or IT or equivalent
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
  • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken
  • Freely contributes ideas and views verbally and in writing to various internal colleagues, stakeholders and customers
  • Takes ownership and a drive for excellence
  • Passion for testing and an appreciation of current paradigms in the industry


Desired Skills

  • Experience with SpecFlow would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of SQL to integrate and alter data for testing purposes
  • Experience in integrating automated tests with continuous integration
