Job Description

We are recruiting for experienced Stores Operatives with valid forklift licences to join our production line materials distribution team to service our manufacturing plant with all the building materials and new home internal fit out products for new build park homes and modular buildings.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced production line Stores | Forklift Operative to join our Wellingborough team. 

We are looking for team players who will stand out from the crowd and move the servicing of our manufacturing team to a new phase of organisation; ensuring all materials and stock are where the production team require them, to enable the smooth flow of production achieving productivity targets.

You would be operating within our manufacturing site, carrying out stock counts, and replenishment of building materials and internal furnishings.  Ensuring the right product goes to the correct new build home in a timely manner.

Unloading of deliveries and collating materials using forklift trucks, manual aids and colleagues, ensuring workspaces are clean and safe and materials stored correctly.

You will be working across a large site both inside and outside, with production line side storage areas, various outside storage areas, satellite stores areas and a small goods in area.

The role involves movements of stock around an indoor construction site while various trades carry out their work in a busy manufacturing plant building large park homes.

Excellent Health and Safety awareness and FLT driving skills are required.

Additional Information

Core Working Hours Monday to Friday 7 AM to 5 PM plus Weekday and weekend overtime required. Site Hours 6AM to 6PM. Full flexibility required with working overtime.

Essential Skills

  • VALID - FLT Licences | Pedestrian truck | Counterbalance | Combi | Reach | PPT - one or more licences required
  • GCSE Maths or equivalent and highly IT Literate
  • In-depth knowledge of construction industry products
  • Good organisational and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, written, oral communication, and able to liaise with staff at all levels
  • Ability to build relationships with line side management and their teams
  • Experience preferably in the industry and construction disciplines such as house builders, commercial and leisure product knowledge
  • Forklift counterbalance licence warehouse experience
  • Health and Safety awareness
  • Warehouse stock control experience alongside stock counts and booking in
  • Full UK driving license
  • Must be flexible
