We are imby, a technology company aiming to create a digital twin of nature in our cities, showing how we are all connected and how we can all contribute to improving the world around us. We are keen to expand our portfolio of sustainability technology solutions - what would you like to create?

Building on our steady growth to date, we are increasingly focused on developing and delivering technology projects for third parties. Your primary objective will be to make imby a commercially sustainable technology company, identifying and winning contracts and grants that allow us to build out our delivery team, and our internal IP.

About the Role

Working alongside our CTO and Business Development Manager, you will work to identify and win commercial contracts to deliver (preferably sustainable) technology solutions to third-parties. Ensuring we win ongoing support contracts will be key to developing long-term commercial sustainability.

You will also be responsible for developing imby’s longer-term strategy, in particular charting a course to developing our own products to take to market, and locating appropriate funding to do so. As part of this, you will look to identify potential grants which can support this strategy, developing relationships with potential delivery partners to help imby win and deliver on these.

Additional Information

Title: Managing Director Salary: £40000 to £50000 + Equity Location: London / Remote

Essential Skills

You will have experience of small businesses, ideally in the technology sector and preferably in senior management roles, with demonstrable experience of:  

• Winning and delivering commercial contracts
• Winning and delivering R&D Grants
• Good command of English, both spoken and written
• Excellent people management skills and experience

Desired Skills

• Experience working in tech companies and/or startups
• Experience working within SMEs

• time-series data
• geolocation data
• energy & environment
• automated energy metering (AMR and SMETS)
• plants & gardens
• website, app and backend dev
