The fire door Sales Estimator Apprentice will learn how to transfer customer enquiries into a compliant and commercially attractive quotation using our in-house estimating system. Sales negotiation skills and technical knowledge will be provided to help convert opportunity onto order for manufacture. The Apprentice will be part of a young, fast-paced sales & production team who take great pride in the high quality of their work and excellent reputation of our fire doors.

Training to be provided: Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard. You will complete a 15 month apprenticeship which includes 10 days at the PETA training centre in Cosham. You will be supported every 6 weeks with visits from your PETA Learning & Development Coach.

The  Estimator Apprentice (Sales Administrator) will assist the sales and estimating team and learn all aspects of the sales, estimating and manufacturing processes. Duties will include:

  • Creating doorsets quotations and drawings using our in-house production system
  • Learning technical knowledge of fire door, ironmongery and construction components
  • Learning sales techniques; how to negotiate and create best opportunity to obtain order commitment
  • Supporting the sales & estimating with general administration duties

The Estimator Apprentice (Sales Administrator) will learn all about the construction industry and all aspects of door manufacture from enquiry through to invoice.

Additional Information

- 40 hour working week - 100% of our apprentices have been offered a full-time position on successful completion of their apprenticeship and have continued with further training/qualifications, promotion, wage increases and more responsibility. - Progression can include project management roles within the company and management positions are attainable for the right person in the future.

Essential Skills

It is important that the Estimator Apprentice (Sales Administrator) has a technical background, including strong numeracy and ICT skills. It is also important that they:

  • Are tenacious and personable
  • Have good communication skills and a polite telephone manner
  • Have strong attention to detail and timekeeping skills
  • Have good MS Office skills, including use of Excel
  • GCSEs in Maths and English with at least a grade C / 4 are required.

  • STEM subject at A level or equivalent
  • An interest in construction or joinery
  • Keen to learn and eager to progress
  • Organised and articulate
