Job Description

We are recruiting 2 Building Quality Control Inspectors to expand our QC team, one of  the roles will be with our finishing section and the other with our build section.

Build Quality Control

  • Oversee quality of build
  • Building checks for structure of home
  • Design checks

Finishing Quality Control

  • Oversee quality of finish to new park home buildings
  • Final finishing checks prior to despatch
  • Finished design sign off 

 

The two positions will be ensuring all work is completed to the industry standard quality control system.  You will need a hands on practical and logical approach to ensuring that work is carried out to a high standard in a fast pace environment. 

Candidates should be able to build a good rapport with management and their teams and subcontractors to be able to interface during the build and finish to control quality of work.

You will need experience preferably in the industry but certainly from a tool background and construction disciplines such as house builders, commercial and leisure. Qualifications in construction or surveying would also be advantageous.

The role involves a wide range of challenges so requires an adaptable solution led approach. You will be liaising directly with other departments and individuals, so good communication skills are necessary. We are looking for a positive team player with great problem-solving skills that also has a good eye for detail and is able to work independently with limited supervision.

Duties include;

  • The quality and safety of works on the line side
  • Making sure that building plans and specifications are being followed correctly
  • Ensure that work is carried out properly
  • Snagging of finished homes to highlight defects or areas of improvement
  • Ensuring homes are finished to a high level
  • Carry out regular inspections of the work
  • Comparing completed work with drawings and specifications 
  • Measuring and sampling building materials to check their quality
  • Recording results
  • Identifying build defects and suggesting ways to correct them
  • Monitoring and development of department processes in the finishing stage of the build
  • Identification of errors and implementation of preventative actions
  • Communication back down the production line of issues identified

Monday to Thursday - 8AM to 5PM and Friday - 8AM to 12PM

Essential Skills

  • Sound knowledge of Building Regulations and current BS3636;2015
  • Good organisational and project management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills, written, oral communication 
  • IT and an understanding of Excel
  • A good level of fitness and a head for heights
  • Completion of the industry standard quality control system
  • Ability to build relationships with line side management and their teams
  • Confidently manage conflict to a resolute, Subcontractor interface during the build to control workmanship quality
  • You will need experience preferably in the industry but certainly from a tool background and construction disciplines such as house builders, commercial and leisure
  • Qualifications in construction or surveying would be advantageous
  • Ability to build relationships with line side management, supervisors and their teams
