Our team in Redcar and Cleveland are recruiting for an experienced Alcohol Substance Misuse Nurse, to join them in providing high quality recovery care to a diverse service user group. As a Alcohol and Substance Misuse Nurse you will be practicing with our new Thrive partnership.
The postholder will provide a range of health and wellbeing and harm reduction interventions to service users, in accordance with the agreed model of service delivery. As part of this role, you will plan, coordinate and support appropriate detoxification from drugs and/or alcohol, assessing the needs of service users and implementing and evaluating care plans. observations. You will support clients with alcohol reductions and assess suitability for community alcohol detoxification. It will be vital for you to develop strong and positive relationships with key stakeholders and commissioners for the continuity of service, as well as leading on providing community detoxification programmes, clinics and groups.
You will be a compassionate and motivated nurse, with the ability to connect quickly with the people we support, treating them respectfully and with dignity. This is a busy team, with multiple priorities ongoing, so it’s important that you are highly organised and able to manage your time effectively. You will have sound experience of comprehensive assessment of need, including risk assessments and be able to implement and evaluate patient care and act accordingly if untoward changes occur. Working knowledge of substance misuse and an independent prescribing qualification would be advantageous, but we are open to conversations with all suitably qualified applicants.
